Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Cosmos Studio ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Cosmos One ("we", "us", or "our"). We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Cosmos Studio. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2. Description of Service

Cosmos Studio is a free, browser-based web application designed to help you create professional Google Play Store screenshots, feature graphics, and promotional materials. The App allows you to:

Create interactive canvas designs with device frames and text overlays
Use 2D screenshot templates at Google Play-compliant dimensions (1080x1920, 1920x1080)
Use 2D and 3D feature graphic templates at 1024x500 pixels
Render 3D phone mockups using Three.js
Export final designs in PNG and JPEG formats
Save and restore project sessions locally

The App runs entirely in your web browser. There is no backend server, no user accounts, and no cloud storage. All data is processed and stored locally on your device.

Cosmos Studio is also available as a Chrome browser extension with identical functionality and offline capability.

3. Important Disclaimers

3.1 Google Play Compliance

While Cosmos Studio is designed to produce assets that meet Google Play Store requirements (dimensions, aspect ratios, file formats), we do not guarantee that exported images will be accepted by Google Play. Google may change their requirements at any time, and acceptance of store listing images is at Google's sole discretion.

3.2 Output Quality

The quality and suitability of designs created with Cosmos Studio depend on your inputs (uploaded screenshots, text content, design choices). We provide the tools; the creative output is your responsibility.

3.3 Browser Compatibility

Cosmos Studio requires a modern web browser with support for HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, localStorage, and IndexedDB. Features such as the File System Access API (direct folder saving) are only available in Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge). We do not guarantee functionality in all browsers or browser versions.

3.4 Data Persistence

Data stored in your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB may be cleared by:

Browser cache/data clearing operations
Browser updates or reinstallation
Operating system changes
Private/incognito browsing mode (data is not persisted)
Storage pressure (browser may evict data if device storage is low)

We recommend exporting important designs as image files. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from browser storage limitations.

4. Licence Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the App solely for your personal or commercial design purposes.

4.1 Restrictions

You may not:

Copy, modify, or distribute the App
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App (except as permitted by law)
Remove or alter any proprietary notices or attribution
Use the App for any illegal purpose
Transfer your licence to another party
Use the App's code or design to create a competing product
Redistribute the App or its source code without authorisation
Misrepresent the App as your own product

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or generate using Cosmos Studio ("User Content"), including but not limited to:

Screenshots you upload
Designs and compositions you create
Text, graphics, and layouts you produce
Exported image files

We claim no ownership or rights over your content. Your content never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

5.2 Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

The content you create and how you use it
Ensuring your content does not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights
Complying with Google Play Store guidelines if you use exported images for app listings
Ensuring uploaded screenshots and images are ones you have the right to use
Any use of exported images in commercial or public contexts

5.3 Prohibited Content

You agree not to use Cosmos Studio to create content that:

Infringes on any third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property
Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or harmful
Violates any applicable laws or regulations
Misrepresents the functionality or nature of any application

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we protect your information. Key points:

All processing happens locally in your browser — no data is sent to any server
No cookies, analytics, or tracking are used
All data is stored locally in your browser
You can delete all data at any time by clearing browser site data

7. Data Storage and Security

7.1 Local-Only Storage

All designs, project data, and preferences are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB. We do not operate servers that store your data.

7.2 Security

Your data is protected by the browser's same-origin policy and your operating system's security model. No data is transmitted over any network during normal app use. The Chrome extension enforces a Content Security Policy restricting code execution to the app's own scripts.

7.3 Data Persistence

You are responsible for exporting important designs as image files. Browser storage can be cleared by various browser operations and is not a long-term backup solution. See §3.4 for details.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services and libraries:

React, Fabric.js, Three.js, React Three Fiber, Tailwind CSS: Open-source libraries that run entirely in your browser (no data transmitted)
Samsung S24 Ultra 3D model (by me_blender): Bundled asset licensed under CC BY 4.0 (loaded locally, no external download)
Netlify: Static hosting for the web version (serves application files only)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Application

Cosmos Studio's source code, user interface design, templates, and associated documentation are the intellectual property of Cosmos One. Our name, logo, and related marks are our trademarks.

9.2 Templates

The templates provided within Cosmos Studio (screenshot layouts, feature graphic designs, 3D scenes) are provided for your use in creating app store materials. You may use exported designs commercially (e.g., for Google Play Store listings) without additional licence fees.

9.3 3D Model Attribution

Cosmos Studio includes a 3D model of the Samsung S24 Ultra by me_blender, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). This model is bundled with the App for rendering phone mockups. The required attribution is displayed within the App's interface.

9.4 Open Source Libraries

Cosmos Studio uses open-source libraries (React, Three.js, Fabric.js, Tailwind CSS, and others) under their respective licences (primarily MIT). See the THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md file for full details.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

COSMOS STUDIO IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
NON-INFRINGEMENT
ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF CONTENT

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

The App will meet your specific requirements
The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
Any defects will be corrected

Australian Consumer Law Notice: Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred on you by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement. If the Australian Consumer Law applies, then to the extent permitted, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COSMOS ONE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill
Cost of procurement of substitute services
Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the App

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE), EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Since Cosmos Studio is a free service with no data transmission, our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed AUD $0 (zero dollars).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Cosmos One and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

Your use of Cosmos Studio
Content you create, upload, or distribute using the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights

13. Termination

13.1 By You

You may stop using Cosmos Studio at any time. To remove all traces of the App:

Clear browser site data for the Cosmos Studio domain
Uninstall the Chrome extension (if installed)
Delete any exported files from your device

13.2 By Us

We reserve the right to discontinue the App or restrict access at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases. Since all data is stored locally on your device, termination does not affect your existing exported files or locally stored data (until you choose to delete them).

14. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any aspect of Cosmos Studio at any time without prior notice. This includes adding, changing, or removing features, templates, or functionality. We shall not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

The Chrome extension version operates fully offline once installed and is not subject to web hosting availability.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through prominent notice within the App.

Your continued use of Cosmos Studio after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the App.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other mandatory consumer protection legislation in your jurisdiction.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cosmos One regarding your use of Cosmos Studio, and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.
